Danvers, Mass. (September 12, 2012) – North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA is pleased to announce the appointment of Joerg Ayrle to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Ayrle, who has been in the role since April 2012, manages all financial responsibilities for the NAFTA region, including information technology and purchasing. He is based in Danvers, Mass. and reports to OSRAM CFO Dr. Klaus Patzak as well as regionally to OSRAM SYLVANIA President and CEO Rick Leaman.

“We are very excited to have Joerg join our team in NAFTA,” said Rick Leaman, President and CEO of OSRAM SYLVANIA. “The more than 20 years of experience in global markets, Asia in particular, that Joerg brings to the management team will be an indispensible asset for OSRAM SYLVANIA as a whole, as we move to new chapter of our company, in an increasingly global industry.”

After studying business administration in Augsburg, Germany, Ayrle joined Siemens AG in 1991 as a management consultant on the Corporate Strategy team. In 1998, he moved on to be the vice president of Business Administration for the Asia business of the semiconductor company Infineon Technologies, located in Singapore.

He re-joined Siemens as head of Subsidiary Companies Management for the Mobile Communication Division in 2001 only to move back to Asia a year later as senior vice president and CFO of the company’s Mobile Phone business in Asia, headquartered in Shanghai. In 2006, Ayrle moved to Bejing as managing director for Siemens Corporate Finance heading the Asia Mergers & Acquisitions office. After multiple buy-side and sell-side transactions in Asia, he took over as CFO for the Specialty Lighting Business of OSRAM in 2009.
