Philadelphia and Danvers, Mass. – North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA is delivering innovative breakthrough technology in the LED power supply market with the introduction of the new OPTOTRONIC® 40W Programmable Constant Current LED Power Supply (OT40W). This unique solution offers architectural grade dimming to an ultra-low 1 percent to address even the most demanding solid state lighting applications.  The output current is programmable by an OEM across a wide range, simplifying the manufacturing process and allowing performance requirements to be tailored to exceed energy targets for green building projects. Specifiers and OEMs can use the versatile 40W OPTOTRONIC power supply for numerous lighting applications that may otherwise require many different alternatives.

OSRAM SYLVANIA will be demonstrating the 40W power supply and a full portfolio of solid state and traditional lighting solutions, controls and systems at Booth #1001 at LIGHTFAIR  International 2013, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference.

Available in industry standard housings, with and without PEM studs, the OPTOTRONIC Programmable 40W power supply offers the widest user-programmable range in the industry with 10-55 VDC and programmable in 1mA steps from 400 to 1400 mA. This provides luminaire manufacturers true design flexibility, reduces qualification and inventory costs, and simplifies manufacturing and inventory management. Programming is fast and intuitive, and the power supply does not need to be powered up or connected to AC line voltage while programming.

The highly efficient OT40W offers unique, architectural-grade linear dimming to 1 percent through built-in 0-10V dimming technology that enables direct integration and operation with standard dimmers, sensors, as well as energy and light-management systems to help meet stricter energy codes and control regulations. Compatible with many indoor LED lighting modules, the OT40W is an ideal power solution for decorative, track-mounted, and in-grade fixtures, as well as recessed downlight, wall wash, and troffer applications.

“Our commitment to developing cutting-edge lighting solutions is further demonstrated with the innovative OPTOTRONIC 40W Programmable LED Power Supply,” said Naveen Tumula, product group marketing manager, OSRAM SYLVANIA. “The OPTOTRONIC 40W Programmable LED Power Supply offers ultimate design and manufacturing flexibility by allowing OEMs to program and configure the features and output of a single power supply, removing the need for multiple products and configurations. In addition, the end user benefits from 1 percent dimming, which is just what lighting designers want.”

UL and CSA Class 2 for safe operation, the OT40W also offers an integrated, OEM configurable LED module thermal protection feature that reduces output current if the LED modules become too hot. OT40W power supplies are optimally paired with OSRAM Distributed Array Gen II LED modules that emit up to 145 lumens per watt, and require no additional heat sinking for general lighting applications. Like all OSRAM LED power supplies, the OT40W is backed by a standard 5-year warranty.
