SYLVANIA Headlight 2.0 iPhone App:  Find Replacement Bulbs at the Speed of Light

AAPEX, LAS VEGAS, Nov. 1, 2010 – Do you want to find replacement headlight bulbs faster than you can say OSRAM SYLVANIA Inc.? Then, download the new SYLVANIA iPhone app, Headlight 2.0.

The world leader in automotive lighting solutions has launched an enhanced version of its free SYLVANIA iPhone App that allows shoppers to quickly find the right replacement part number through an easy and interactive experience. It also provides consumers with everything they need right at their fingertips like access to product performance, photos and a direct link to customer service.

The app, an upgrade from SYLVANIA Headlight 1.0, allows users to select the make, model and year of their vehicle to quickly see a detailed listing of all the replacement bulbs available, including headlights, taillights, signal lighting and dome lighting for the majority of vehicles on the road today. Developed by Fastrak Retail, LLC, the reference app was designed with a cleaner look and increased response time. It also features OS4 technology so that multiple apps can be run at once.

“Headlight 2.0 now houses 58 years worth of parts data, so virtually all drivers can use the app to find their replacement bulbs. No more thumbing through the 4-inch thick parts catalog when you get to the store,” said Joe Verbanic, Marketing Manager for SYLVANIA Automotive Lighting.
In addition to providing consumers with their replacement part numbers, SYLVANIA Headlight 2.0 also contains product photos and descriptions so that consumers can make a more informed decision about the type of lighting they need to ensure the best driving visibility. Consumers can even contact SYLVANIA customer service via email with the click of a button, or connect directly to the SYLVANIA website.

This is an ideal reference app for automotive lighting installers, independent mechanics, independent repair or inspection facilities, small shop owners and do-it-yourself consumers.
“The great thing about our updated iPhone app is that it is beneficial to customers looking for replacement bulbs and any one in the business of selling or installing replacement bulbs,” said Verbanic.

Since the app’s data is housed on the phone, it works without internet access or cell phone reception. However, internet connectivity is needed to email customer service or access additional product information through the SYLVANIA website,

SYLVANIA’s new app is one of only a handful of reference apps specific to the automotive category. Headlight 2.0 is currently available for the iPhone 4G, 3GS, 3G, iTouch and iPad. To download the app, go to iTunes.
