OSRAM SYLVANIA Expands Family of ULTRA LED Lamps
New LED A15 and LED MR16 Products Introduced into the ULTRA LED Lamp Family

Las Vegas and Danvers, Mass. (May 9, 2012) – Committed to ongoing innovation in solid state lighting (SSL), OSRAM SYLVANIA is proud to expand its line of ULTRA LED lamps with two new products: the ULTRA LED A15 lamp and the ULTRA LED MR16 lamp, designed to quickly and easily replace less efficient technologies.

“The ULTRA LED series of lamps are some of the most widely used products we’re creating today,” said Ellen Sizemore, Product Marketing Manager, OSRAM SYLVANIA. “We feel it’s important to give end users a variety of lighting options to meet their needs – regardless of the type of lamp, size or style – with products true to our commitments to quality and efficiency.”

The new ULTRA LED A15 lamps are an energy saving replacement for 40W A15 incandescent lamps. These lamps have the highest lumen output currently available and are ideally suited for applications such as fans and down lights. With a rated lamp life of 25,000 hours, the SYLVANIA A15 lamps can last up to twenty-five times longer than the 40-watt incandescent lamps it replaces, helping to reduce maintenance and lamp replacement costs. Additionally, the ULTRA LED A15 lamps are dimmable down to 10 percent and with controlled energy usage and light output can yield up to 80 percent energy savings.

The ULTRA LED MR16 lamps are well suited replacements for 50W halogen MR16 lamps and are used in indoor applications. The ANSI sized MR16 emits 540 lumens of bright, white light and the quality of color rendering of the new MR16 lamp matches that of the halogen lamps it replaces. Like the ULTRA LED A15 A-line lamps, the SYLVANIA MR16 LED lamps can help reduce maintenance and replacement costs thanks to their long life of 25,000 hours. The MR16 is also dimmable down to 10 percent, allowing for further energy savings through controlled energy usage and light output.

As with all OSRAM SYLVANIA ULTRA LED lamps, both the ULTRA A15 lamps and ULTRA MR16 lamps are mercury and lead free and are environmentally preferable alternatives to existing light sources.
