OSRAM SYLVANIA Introduces Revolutionary PrevaLED® LED Lighting System
High-Definition LED Lamps Offer Unique Combination of High Lumens, Premium Color Quality and Energy Savings

Las Vegas and Danvers, Mass. (May 9, 2012) – Continually at the forefront of solid-state lighting (SSL) innovation, North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA introduces its PrevaLED® HD Light System, a dynamic LED light modular platform designed with the future of lighting technology in mind. With intelligent color control and very high efficacy, the new LED modules address the needs and limitations of the current SSL market while paving the way for future innovations.

The PrevaLED® HD LED light engine system combines a 2-inch diameter module using high-efficacy LEDs and on-board, active intelligent controls paired with high efficiency OPTOTRONIC® power supplies and offers excellent color consistency from module to module and exceptional color stability over the life of the LEDs. The high-performance system also allows for lasting luminaire designs that can now be evaluated and developed more quickly and at a lower cost. The PrevaLED HD LED system is an ideal replacement for less efficient halogen, ceramic metal halide and compact fluorescent technologies. Additionally, end users will now have the ability to easily upgrade to future energy efficient light sources, with a standard form factor that will be maintained throughout future performance improvements.

The true innovation of the PrevaLED® HD system is the outstanding light quality with a color-rendering index (CRI) of more than 90 at both 3000K and 4000K color temperatures, without compromising system efficiency. The light system also actively controls the light output and color to reduce visual variation between single light engines, delivering premium light quality in a uniform distribution.

In addition to its exceptional CRI, the PrevaLED® HD light system is an incredibly flexible lighting solution with 0-10V dimming capability. The platform of the two-inch round modules will be available in a range of 800 to 3000 lumens, and multiple integrated reflector mounting options allow for a preferred reflector to be attached. The PrevaLED light engines can also be combined with optimally designed OPTOTRONIC® LED power supplies to achieve up to 75 lumens per watt system efficiency
