OSRAM SYLVANIA Showcases Most Comprehensive Line of Ceramic Metal Halide System Portfolio at LIGHTFAIR 2011
Full line of energy efficient High-Intensity Discharge systems offer low wattage, compact sizes and long life products

Philadelphia and Danvers, Mass. (May 17, 2011) – OSRAM SYLVANIA is exhibiting the most comprehensive line of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps, which simplify design and specification demands. With the lowest wattages, longest life ratings and the most compact sizes, the North American lighting leader now offers a the most comprehensive ceramic metal halide HID system selections to suit nearly every type of application. Several new systems are on display at the OSRAM SYLVANIA LIGHTFAIR International booth.

The industry exclusive METALARC® POWERBALL® Ceramic 15W TF and QUICKTRONIC® Super Mini System uses the OSRAM SYLVANIA invented spherical ceramic arc tube technology. These extremely compact universal input voltage ceramic metal halide systems feature industry leading color-rendering while providing unparallel flexibility and increased energy savings. Due to its size, efficiency and maintenance advantages, the TF System is ideal for applications requiring high impact accent to outdoor spaces. The entire system is high efficient touting 67 lumens per watt and a long life of 15,000 hours.

In addition to the 15W TF system, OSRAM SYLVANIA extended its mogul base system offerings. The METALARC POWERBALL Ceramic new METALARC POWERBALL Ceramic 100W ET23.5, 150W ET23.5 and 200W ET18 mogul base lamps are low wattage and long lasting. The lamps feature an industry leading 95+ color rendering index and excellent red (R9) rendering, yielding more natural and vibrant colors and crisper whites. With a 24,000-hour lamp life, the METALARC lamps match the life of standard high-pressure sodium lamps and exceed that of quartz metal-halide lamps by up to sixty percent, reducing maintenance costs. Over the course of the ceramic metal halide lamp’s life, customers experience up to eighty-five percent lumen maintenance and superior color stability.
Along with the QUICKTRONIC Metal Halide Dimming Systems and Outdoor Metal Halide and High-Pressure Sodium Dimming Systems, these two lamp variations round out four complete product families that make up a versatile solution set of energy efficient high-intensity discharge lighting systems. The METALARC POWERBALL Ceramic 100/150W and Ceramic 200W lamps feature industry leading color-rendering while not compromising on saving in energy costs.

Among the new electronic HID ballasts from OSRAM SYLVANIA is the lead-free and RoHS compliant QUICKTRONIC® QTO High-Efficiency family of metal halide dimming ballasts. When paired with the QUICKTRONIC QTO line of electronic ballasts, the METALARC POWERBALL Ceramic metal halide lamps experience improved energy efficiency and performance gains as well as the flexibility of the ballast’s dimming functionality. Along with improved energy efficiency, the QUICKTRONIC QTO line of electronic ballasts demonstrates improved correlated color temperature (CCT) and color rendering index (CRI) over the life of the lamp. Even further energy savings are possible with three integral dimming features: 0-10V dimming, step dimming from 100 to 50 percent power and innovative AstroDim. When QUICKTRONIC QTO ballasts and SYLVANIA high intensity discharge lamps are specified together, the system is covered by the comprehensive QUICK 60+® System Warranty.
