OSRAM SYLVANIA Introduces New Emergency Lighting Innovation
New SYLVANIA Emergency Light by SentryLight® Provides Compact and Concealed Emergency Lighting Solution for Any Application

Las Vegas and Danvers, Mass., (May 9, 2012) – At the forefront of innovative lighting solutions across all applications, North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA is pleased to introduce the SYLVANIA Emergency Light by SentryLight, a new solution for emergency lighting applications. Perfect for new construction as well as retrofit projects, the LED Emergency Light introduces novel technology into a relatively static segment of lighting market.

The Emergency Light by SentryLight is compact and concealed, hiding the light source inside the wall or ceiling until the event of a power failure. Upon activation, the SYLVANIA Emergency Light automatically deploys a high-output, bright white LED module in a durable housing, providing illumination to help guide people in an emergency for up to three hours. Also available with built-in projection technology, the SYLVANIA Emergency Light can project large arrows onto adjacent walls to provide interactive evacuation guidance.

The SYLVANIA Emergency Light LED units have a long life rated at 50,000 hours and are powered by an internal, rechargeable 12V battery. The sleek, vandal-proof design, featuring a customizable front cover plate that can be painted or wallpapered, coupled with the long light source life can lead to maintenance cost savings over comparable emergency lighting solutions.

“This product represents a major advancement in emergency lighting technology,” said Constance Pineault, Product Marketing Manager for LED Retrofit Products, OSRAM SYLVANIA.  “Now we have emergency lighting designed to be closer to the floor – below the layer of smoke that would rise in the event of a fire – with the ability to visually guide people to the closest exits, all in an easy to install, virtually invisible solution.”

Meeting all current applicable interior emergency lighting code requirements, the SYLVANIA Emergency Light provides innovative quality light when people need it most: when looking for the exit in the case of an emergency. Featuring quick and easy installation into walls and ceilings, this solution is perfect for a range of commercial and residential applications including office, healthcare, hospitality, education, and retail installations.
