OSRAM SYLVANIA Expands OCTRON® T8 Fluorescent Family With OCTRON 800 XV™ ECOLOGIC® Lamps
Optimized Phosphor Formulation Provides Extra Value Spec Grade Lighting Solution

Las Vegas and Danvers, Mass. (May 9, 2012) – At the forefront of sustainable lighting innovation, North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA is pleased to expand its portfolio of OCTRON® T8 fluorescent lamps with the introduction of the new OCTRON 800 XV ECOLOGIC® EXtended Value lamps. Featuring an optimized phosphor formulation, these lamps meet today's lighting needs of high efficiency, long life and superior color rendition while responding to marketplace needs for responsible fluorescent alternatives during the industry’s rare earth phosphor crisis.

The SYLVANIA OCTRON 800 XV ECOLOGIC lamps include 4-foot and 8-foot lengths.  The 4-foot types include a full wattage (32 watt) and reduced wattage SUPERSAVER® (30W, 28W and 25W) types that deliver energy savings potential of up to 40 percent when compared with T12 magnetically ballasted fluorescent systems.  The 8-foot lamps are available in 54W and 50W SUPERSAVER types. The SUPERSAVER types provide energy savings of over 35 percent when compared with 8-foot T12 systems.  With high lumen output, average rated life of up to 36,000 hours and CRI of 83, these lamps ensure light levels and color quality will be maintained for a very long time.  OCTRON 800 XV ECOLOGIC lamps are made in the USA, are TCLP and RoHS compliant and feature lead-free glass.1

“The new OCTRON XV ECOLOGIC lamps are an excellent example of SYLVANIA leadership through innovation,” said Robert Hamerstrom, Product Marketing Manager, OSRAM SYLVANIA. “We are very proud of our ability to deliver a lamp that addresses an immediate market need while maintaining the high-quality standard our customers expect.”

The addition of these new lamps provide cost saving options for all T8 luminaires. When paired with QUICKTRONIC® high efficiency T8 electronic ballasts, the systems achieve increased energy savings and are covered by the QUICK 60+® System Warranty. The OCTRON 800 XV ECOLOGIC and 800 XV SUPERSAVER ECOLOGIC lamps are available now.
