OSRAM SYLVANIA Announces Expansion of Omnidirectional LED A-line Lamp Family
Next-Generation LED Lamp Offers Quality Light in Every Direction and an Energy Efficient Alternative for Today’s Common Light Sources

Las Vegas and Danvers, Mass. (May 9, 2012) – North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA today announced the expansion of its family of omnidirectional LED A-Line lamps with the 1600 lumen 100-watt equivalent LED replacement. Part of the  SYLVANIA ULTRA Series of lamps, the omnidirectional LED A-Line lamps offer a long-life, energy efficient alternative to conventional lighting sources such as incandescent, halogen and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL).

With the addition of the A21 100-watt equivalent type, the energy-saving ULTRA LED A-Line lamp comes in four wattages, offering a true substitute for 40, 60, 7 and 100-watt incandescent lamps. Producing a similar  lumen output and distribution pattern, the ULTRA LED omnidirectional A-Line lamp provides up to 82 percent energy savings over traditional incandescent lamps. With a rated life of 25,000 hours, the LED lamps last up to 25 times longer than traditional light sources, resulting in further cost savings from less required maintenance.

“The expansion of this line of already-innovative LED lamps proves our commitment to energy savings and the technology that makes it possible,” said Ellen Sizemore, Product Marketing Manager for LED-retrofit products, OSRAM SYLVANIA. “By delivering not only excellent energy savings but also high-quality light, the ULTRA omnidirectional A-line lamps are a great way to retrofit residential and commercial spaces alike.”

The SYLVANIA ULTRA High Performance Series omnidirectional LED A-Line lamp features a high color rendering index (CRI) of 80 and a 2700K warm color temperature that rivals incandescent and halogen light sources. These features plus all four wattages being dimmable to 10 percent, make the new LED A-Line lamp an attractive option for residential, hospitality, healthcare and retail applications.
